I’ve often wondered how an author decides when to end a chapter and begin a new one. Some times it’s an obvious decision, it makes complete sense; there’s a definite final point, things naturally or decisively come to a close, but other times it’s not so easy. How do you say, I’m going to leave things here, when maybe you weren’t quite ready to leave them behind, how do you say goodbye when you want to hold on just a little longer?
By looking forward. There is power in choosing to move on, there is control and there is respect. How many TV series have you watched where they keep rolling out another season when really they should just have a sentimental last episode, move forward and stop clinging on. I heard a quote recently:
“Mountains can hold you back, so, you need to come down from the mountain you’re on, because there are other mountains to climb.”
This is also unbelievably liberating, I’ve never been one for following the rules or simply going with the flow, and being thrown out of my comfort zone is where I find room to grow, and it’s time for me to push those boundaries again!
There have been a lot of influences that have impacted my next move one is the quote that says:
“That thing you’re afraid to do, is exactly what you should do next.”
I refuse to live my life confined within my fears, we are made to live life to the full, so I intend to do exactly that, whatever that entails! I’ve dreamed of travelling with a camera as my partner, but something was always holding me back, I don’t know what I was waiting but suddenly the excuses weren’t enough, I realised something needed to change in my life… So, I did what any reasonable human being would do: I bought a 1 way ticket to Indonesia!
Beyond that I’m kind of seeing what happens, the route I travel, the places I go and he films I make are all dependent on who I meet the stories I find and he new adventures that inspire me! At some point I will head to Australia but I dont yet know when that will be, but I will keep you posted and updated through story telling photos and films, and I’ll be writing on here any food for thoughts!
Some of you think I’m crazy, some of you think I’m brave, some of you think this is exciting, to me its just something I must do. Not should do. Must do.
Everything is right in its season, and so is this beginning of a new chapter! For now let’s not say goodbye, but “until we meet again!”
