Hello again,
So as it's week three of my gantt chart I thought it would be a good time to start reading my sources, following the first two weeks of some healthy procrastination, and a trip to Portugal (Porto is a wonderful city by the way and if you haven't been yet you should definitely add to your bucket list!).

For anyone who has ever embarked on a mammoth task, such as a dissertation or the production of a film, you will know that at the start of the climb, the mountain seems unscalable, you have a deadline (3 months in this case) and you have a challenge to complete but how the hell to you get from A to B? If you're anything like me you have a million and one ideas flying round your head and more that pop into your mind in the shower or that wake you up at 3am, but getting them all to coherently connect is rather overwhelming! So today I got organised, set up my desk, collected the books I need to read, (I'll organise all my open browser tabs tomorrow), and got out pen and paper to get out some ideas. Call me old fashioned but I like to write things down! A couple of hours later and I I have a rough structure for my 9,000 words (ish) essay and have nicely wallpapered my office with notes!

I then dug into reading my first book. So, apparently, when researching you're meant to skim read (much quicker, obviously) however, I quickly discovered an issue when researching a subject that I'm passionate about; I don't skim read, I don't want read over the words quickly, I want to hang on to every word, every point and re read over points to really feel their meaning. So this could take me some time! It is just so thrilling to read the writing of others who share your passions, who can argue the points you fiercely believe in with such authority!
My favourite discovery that I made today that I wanted to share with you, is that a country banned a Winnie The Pooh film due to the character of Winnie the Pooh being a symbol of resistance! I thought that was a rather special reminder that no matter who you are, never underestimate your ability to make a difference!
And on that cheesy note, I shall say goodbye and get back to my non-skim reading!
